Job Details

School Nurse - High Wycombe, Bucks
(From September 2024)
Term Time Only plus INSET Days - 19 hours per week.
Salary based on £22p/h.

Our client is a thriving, busy school enjoying a famous reputation in its field.  On their 12 acre site in High Wycombe, they educate about 400 girls, aged 3 to 13, with a few boys in our Pre-Prep.  Approximately 80 girls are boarders at the School.

The School requires a dedicated, competent School Nurse to join the School's Medical Centre.

The successful candidate will join a professional team of three registered Nurses who report to the Deputy Head (Pastoral) on a day-to-day basis.  The Medical Centre is staffed on a rota basis 24 hours per day, weekdays and weekends during term-time (except for Exeat weekends).  The post holder will work on a shift pattern to be agreed - to include some night shifts.

Apart from providing nursing care where needed as part of the team effort, the School Nurses ensure the Medical Centre's compliance with regulatory and inspection requirements, develop and update policies and contribute to the School's effort to best practice in pastoral care for all pupils.  In addition, the Medical Centre is a point of contact for staff members and the Nurses administer first aid to anybody on site, if required.

They require a professional caring team member who is RGN qualified (with qualification up to date) who has gained experience in looking after children and managing a diverse and demanding work load.

Benefits include meals on duty in term time.  Accommodation may be available.

Closing date 30th May 2024.  Although they may interview and appoint prior to this date.
