Role: Paediatric Site Practitioner (PSP)
Site: The Portland Hospital for Women & Children-London
Full time permanent: 37.5hrs per week
Shifts: Evenings, nights, two weekends per month 9% shift enhancement

We’re looking for a Paediatric Site Practitioner to join The Portland Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC.
The Portland Hospital is the only independent hospital in the UK entirely dedicated to women and children. Our inpatient and outpatient specialties reflect this, providing clinical expertise in Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Women`s Health.
The PSP Team cover the site 24/7 and are involved in the assessment and management of acutely unwell and deteriorating paediatric patients on the wards, with escalation as appropriate into HDU/PICU.
They are involved in the PICU step-down process and surveillance of these patients, and are a key member of the Clinical Emergency Team, they will also support with bed allocation.
The PSP team provide a highly visible clinical presence around the site and act as role models and expert practitioners, with advanced nursing skills. They co-ordinate resources across the Organisation and work closely with the on-site Duty Managers.
Out of hours, they work as part of the Paediatric Hospital at Night Team to ensure a timely and appropriate response to patients’ needs.
You will have a structured, competency-based development programme and will be supported by the Lead Paediatric Site Practitioner and Head of Clinical Operations.

NMC RN Child
HDU/Critical Care experience
Paediatric Physical Assessment Skills
Current APLS/EPALS provider
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Evidence of CPD e.g. Professional Portfolio
