Audiological Scientist
Part-time, 30 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Audiological Scientist to join to the team here at the Portland to assist in the day-to-running of the Hearing & Balance Department. The post will involve performing paediatric hearing, balance and electrophysiological testing. This post would suit a band 6 Audiologist with an interest in Paediatrics with at least a years post qualification experience.
Duties & Responsibilties
- Hearing assessments for new born to 18 years: Hearing tests, impedance testing and OAEs
- CAPD assessments
- Working alongside ENT consultants
- Assisting Audio-vestibular Physicians in hearing & Balance assessments
- Balance assessments: VNG, calorics and rotary chair
- Electro-physiological testing: ABRs, ASSR, c-VEMPs & o-VEMPs
- Explanation of results, where appropriate
Skills & Experience
- MSc or BSc in Audiology
- Knowledge of paediatric audiology
- Able to work effectively without direct supervision
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Able to work as part of a team
- Good phone manner
