Charterhouse, a prestigious Independent School, is seeking to employ a highly organised, methodical and knowledgeable School Nurse to join a successful and thriving team of nurses, based in the Hunt Health Centre, to provide clinically effective, high quality nursing care to the pupils.

The Hunt Health Centre provides 24 hour a day, term time only medical support to pupils, through a team of nurses working shifts between them, including the Sister in Charge.

The role entails organisation and running of daily surgeries, provision of first aid and emergency care, management of the immediate care of pupils with mental health conditions and management of the immediate care of pupils with sports injuries.

The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse on the current NMC register with relevant post-registration experience. S/he will have experience in managing accident & emergency situations as well as school nursing and/or Primary Health Care nursing experience. IT literacy, with a willingness to learn using new technology, is an essential requirement for this post. Previous experience in provision of mental health nursing, ideally with adolescents, is not essential but would be a considerable advantage.

The hours for this part-time post will include overnight working and one weekend shift in six, term time only. The precise work pattern will be discussed at interview.
